Joint Assistant Professor of Geology
The CSU Los Angeles Department of Geosciences and Environment and Natural Science Program is seeking a Joint Assistant Professor of Geology with the Department of Geosciences and Environment and with the Natural Science Program.
The primary professional responsibilities of instructional faculty members are: teaching, research, scholarship and/or creative activity, and service to the University, profession and to the community. These responsibilities generally include: advising students, participation in campus and system-wide committees, maintaining office hours, working collaboratively and productively with colleagues, and participation in traditional academic functions.

Job Description: LGC Geotechnical, Inc. has an immediate opening for a Laboratory Technician. No experience necessary.
Duties include: learning and understanding ASTM and CalTrans testing procedures, preparing soils for laboratory testing, performing geotechnical laboratory testing, cleaning sample rings. Other duties include assisting the lab manager in reviewing visual classifications on field boring logs, calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment, keeping the laboratory organized and in compliance with QA/QC initiatives, ensuring laboratory supplies are sufficiently stocked, performing calculations and data reduction of laboratory results (using Microsoft Word and Excel), other various laboratory duties and administrative duties (as appropriate).
The successful candidate must have a solid work ethic, organizational skills, and the capability of working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Ability to organize and adjust to changing priorities and assignments, strategically plan and coordinate multiple tasks in an efficient manner. Positive work attitude and a thirst to learn and achieve continuous improvement in a team environment.
